“Meet-The-Artist” Interactive Assemblies are hands-on, one-time workshops for youth 4-18 and adults of all ages. A Theatre Of Hearts/Youth First Artist/Mentor or a group of these professional artists share their talent in their particular field (visual art, music, theater, dance) with an entire school assembly, community group or other large gathering.
Both a performance and a hands-on workshop, the participants are engaged and encouraged to participate as for our sequential Artist-In-Residence workshop series, allowing all participants to gain experience and knowledge of the particular artistic discipline discussed and demonstrated. Theatre Of Hearts/Youth First Artist/Mentors discuss their professional life as an artist, how they entered their field, their influences and background, then demonstrate their craft and allot time for participants to apply what they’ve seen and heard with appropriate exercises. All participants and audience members are encouraged to talk to the Theatre Of Hearts/Youth First Artist/Mentor further about their professional life and the various themes, traditions and histories related to their field in a concluding question/answer session.
